The hopeful usually draw strength from incredible sources of power, through a slogan, a word, or a button. I like to think of my paintings as slogans. I respond to nature yet work with ideas and concepts that are contrary to nature, rest, and common sense. I respond to the texts of both left and right-leaning political sources utilizing uniform identities, emblems, the elaborate world of etiquette and snobbery, the masked reality of life and death, and programs found in nature.
